Birthday Card Another Year Wilder Wiser Coastal

This birthday card celebrates British coastal wildlife with the words ‘Another Year Wilder Wiser’ arranged in a symmetrical seaside composition.

The illustration shows Atlantic puffins, lesser black-backed gulls, northern gannets, common blue and marsh fritillary butterflies among sea holly, golden hair lichen, tubular water-dropwort, sea mayweed, rock samphire and goldilocks aster. The design represents Broad Haven on the Welsh Pembrokeshire coast but also reflects East Lothian’s similar Scottish shoreline species, where the artist lives.

Drawn in a digital block-print style with fine linework and flat colour, it captures the humour and renewal of growing wilder rather than older. Part of Giverly’s Great British Cottagecore Off collection.
